Go for the GOLD at the Dojo!

Good day Aiki People,

The Winter Olympics are here again! Many people are watching countries come together as their Olympians reach for the highest level of recognition in their area of expertise. If you are watching, it is hard not to be inspired. However, if you listen to most of the athletes it is not just about this one moment. It is about all of the training, their coaches, their mentors, their family and friends. It is also about their mind set. They always must focus on the goal, the Gold. Even though they may not achieve it, they are always focused forward.

Moving forward is more than just a physical movement. It is a mind set, one that can helps up learn a new movement in the dojo. Or one that might propel a seventeen year old first time Olympian to a Gold medal finish. Everyday at work, school or at the dojo ask your self. Am I focused forward? Am I giving a Gold medal effort?

Come in this week and let us help you move forward towards your next goal!

This week…

Principle: Forward focus

Technique: Irimi Nage

Ukemi: Ushiro Ukemi

Weapons: Jo Suburi, 1st & 2nd Kumi Jo
