2018 here we come!

Hello and Happy New Year Y’all!

There are some wonderful things coming in to 2018 and we can hardly wait to share them all with you.
For now please remember the following…
– The dojo will reopen for regular classes January 3rd, 2017
– Sunday, January 7th at 2pm we have a demo at
Shinnyo-En Nevada Center

Classes restart Wednesday at 5:10pm for kiddos and 6pm for bigger kids come on in and start your year our right!

Hello again all you beautiful Aikidoka!

This week is a good one…

Thank you to all who were able to make it to our big demo at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum\! We have gotten a lot of positive feed back and everyone’s demonstrations were fantastic. If you couldn’t make it this weekend you can also visit the LV Natural History Museum any day of the week! Click on the link above for more information. Thank you to the Museum for inviting us out for their awesome event series.

Promotions week is from December 18th – 23rd.

During this time, we will have our internal workshop with a few twists and turns, don’t miss out on this super fun week.

Wednesday, December 20th – We will have a special event! Bring an extra shirt and be ready for a super fun time, and join us for some big news.

Saturday, December 23  – We are going out with a bang, this will be our last class of the year and we have some special things planned. Come and close out the year with us, it is gonna be a super swell time!

Winter is here.

Winter Happy Training to all and to all a good flight.

Howdy!

I have just returned from a great winter workshop at Aikido of Reno and am stoked to get back on the mat. There were great classes, awesome black belt tests and very cool demonstrations. I know I am grateful for our very diverse and inclusive Aikido community, and I hope you are too. Thanks Aikido of Reno for another successful and educational event.

Now on to our stuff, we have a fantastic close of the year going on this month and we can’t wait to see you all on the mat. Check it out…

This week…

Continuing our study of Jiyu waza and adventures in Randori!

The focus is on movement and not clashing, for a mutually beneficial result in the dojo.

Principle: Moooovement

Technique: Jiyu waza and Randori

Ukemi: Uke Nage awareness

Weapons: Tachi dori and Jo dori
